Mardell Rampton

Mardell Rampton is a Canadian artist working in the mediums of both cloth and watercolour. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and worked for a number of years in telecommunications as a software engineer.

 

In the mid 2010s, a series of surface design courses led to a change in career, with Rampton becoming a full time artist with work exhibited across Canada and internationally in France, Italy and the U.S.

 

Based in Delta, BC, Rampton explores themes of serenity, tranquility and sanctuary, influenced by a childhood spent on the seas of the west coast of Canada, and a vestibular disorder which impacts her ability to process sensory input such as light, motion and sound.
