Cara Penkett

Cara Penkett is a Canadian artist based in Oakville Ontario, she began painting in 2025 after an injury led her to rediscover a lifelong creative impulse. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and spent many years living and working across Asia as an environmental consultant and with the United Nations in the Asia-Pacific region. Throughout those years she pursued art and jewellery courses for enjoyment, nurturing a creative practice alongside her professional work.

Deeply connected to the natural world, her paintings draw inspiration from the shifting colours of the seasons and the landscapes that surround her. She is particularly drawn to vibrant, luminous colour palettes, creating eye-catching compositions that evoke energy, optimism, and joy. Through layered geometric forms and structured colour bands, her abstract works explore the balance between order and spontaneity while reflecting resilience, renewal, emulating both natural and manmade colours observed in outdoor environments.
