Shelley Lai

Shelley Lai is a Chinese-Canadian photographer born and based in Vancouver, BC, the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. Working in film and digital formats, she has been photographing Vancouver streets for more than 17 years. With a watchful eye, she creates a timeless mood or scene: capturing ordinary people doing everyday things against a backdrop of the city’s historic streets and buildings.
