Seanna Quressette

Seanna Quressette is a Vancouver based artist who has been painting since 2007. Seanna works primarily in acrylics, mixed media and sculpture. Seanna paints from her inner experience and emotion. Her work is non-representational. Seanna is passionate about the human experience and uses her art to express it. Seanna is self-taught, with studies at Emily Carr University and the Gibsons School of the Arts. Some of Seanna’s achievements in art have been to participate in both the Art Rental Program with the North Vancouver Arts Council in 2014 and the group show ‘past, present, future’ at the Amelia Douglas Gallery in New Westminster in 2018.

Seanna has completed commissions and her work is currently in collections in Canada and the United States. You can see her work on Instagram at @seannaq. I am curious about the dichotomy between movement and calm. The works in this show express that dichotomy. From the Geode paintings where there is an inner world of movement contained under the openings in the contained outer painting, to the other paintings which draw the eye between movement and calm, I aspire to evoke curiosity and reflection. I am inspired by colour and shape and emotional expression.
