Cynthia Gavinchuk

Cynthia is a contemporary abstract painter based in South Surrey, British Columbia, creating emotionally charged, deeply textured works that command presence. Working in acrylics and rich mixed media, they build immersive canvases defined by structural complexity, dramatic contrast, and an intense investigation of depth.

As a self-taught artist, Cynthia has developed a deeply instinctive, intuitive and unconstrained relationship with materials. The process is one of patience and endurance, often requiring months of continuous evolution to finish a single piece. In building dozens of intricate layers, it allows each painting to develop its own internal history.

Driven by a love for high drama and structural tension, Cynthia’s aesthetic deliberately plays with opposing forces. Rather than dictating a specific narrative, they view each canvas as an open-ended dialogue, inviting viewers to explore their own deeply personal emotional impressions.
