Lee Tidsbury

Now a resident of Abbotsford, Lee has pursued artistic self-expression through a variety of media since her teens. Her interests have taken her to interior design, presentation artwork for landscape architecture, and print media production. Throughout, her primary interest has been the development of her personal artistic vocabulary in photography, painting, and mixed media pieces.

Now free from the constraints of commercial activities, Lee devotes herself full-time to the studio utilizing a range of techniques and a broad array of subject matter. I have often been asked what I am thinking about when I paint – whether I have a particular finished piece in mind when I begin.

The simple answer is, “No.” My works are exercises in exploration and discovery. My focus is on colour, composition, and the need to create. I work to preserve the essence of an instant in whatever medium, or combination of media, lends itself to that endeavour.
