Joey Cruz Margarejo
Joey Cruz Margarejo's background as an artist is very simple.I taught myself abstract art using acrylic paint ,using only 2 old brushes and palette knife. None of my parents or any of my siblings are into art, but I was influenced by my best friend who's also an artist.
Having a series of shows since 1996 from Manila,Montreal,Vancouver,Edmonton, New York,Los Angeles and now presently an active display at ACCA GALLERY in affluent Beverly Hills CA 90210.Future shows includes Hampton New York,Art Basel Miami, London UK,Paris, Milan, Monaco Yatch show and a series of shows in Southeast Asia. Joey Cruz Margarejo's artworks were featured in books and magazines distributed worldwide and recently has a billboard in Times Square Manhattan NYC.I
have no themes in particular but always love to instil positive values, listening to music motivated me more, and I would find coincidental messages inside them. I also name some of my paintings from the lyrics of the songs that I listened some are from the part of a poem that I like.I am very generous with my paint pouring a gallons of paints in canvas gave me a different high the more paints the more that I like using only my 2 old brushes and distorted pallet knife using both my hands left hand to the left side and right hand to the right part of my canvas.
I love everything VanGogh including his Insanity but I don't think he influenced me in fact some of my collectors think I am more of a Monet. As an artist I believe that Art can unite the world, during Art Exposition interacting to different artists from different part of the world, listening to different languages and accents the more I believe that statement was true. "When people take a deep look at my art works and asking Is this art?" for me that's the best compliment.
