Alice Manieri
I am an Italian Artist, focused on visual storytelling. I was born in Milan in 1991. There, I attended Brera Fine Art Academy and I worked as visual artist in many different fields: advertisement, fashion, set design, illustration, exhibition, journalism...In 2021, I moved to Vancouver to fully commit my art to the animation industry, and follow my dream of becoming a films director. As an artist, I aim to create meaningful stories. Stories which impact people’s daily life.
Stories which draw new horizons and eventually change people’s gaze on the world. Environment is a big theme in my work. This is the way I chose in respond to Clima Change. I want to create awareness about the toxic relationship of western culture with Nature. For historical reasons, western society position humanity on top and outside of their own Ecosystem. We have been thinking about Nature as a resource, a land to own, to consume, to shape on our needs.
With my art I aim to show and to deconstruct this Myth, and eventually reshape a new paradigm I gain inspiration by all of those cultures, modern or old, that teach us how to reconnect our society to Nature. Either it is a technology, science, philosophy or lifestyle, I will talk about it and feed the western world collective imagination.
