Rachel Bailey

LCol Rachel Bailey is a currently serving member of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) as a Communication and Electronics Engineer (CELE). Looking for a creative outlet, Rachel started painting in 2018 working primarily in oils from direct observation. She discovered painting en plein air (painting on location) while posted to 12 Wing Shearwater in 2019 and spent many afternoons during the COVID lockdown capturing idyllic Nova Scotia. Rachel is currently living in Toronto and studying for her Masters of Defence Studies at the Canadian Forces College while balancing family life with a toddler and trying to find time to paint.
