Chantal Brien

Chantal Brien served for 18 years as an Intelligence Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, attaining the rank of Major before an injury ended her career. After retirement, Chantal turned to hand embroidery to stay busy and manage pain. Through this slow and gentle art, Chantal found a powerful means of self expression as well as a welcoming community. Her art focuses on capturing the beauty of the natural world, the resilience of the human spirit and hope in the face of adversity.
