Rosemary Kolasa

My painting practice is rooted in a deep connection to the natural world and the quiet beauty of everyday life. As an African-Canadian artist, I explore emotion, memory, and presence through colour, light, texture, and landscape. My work is inspired by the rhythms and details found in nature, from expansive landscapes to intimate moments of stillness.

I paint not only what I see, but what I feel, using the landscape as a space for reflection, connection, and contemplation. Through my paintings, I invite viewers to slow down and become present. Each work offers a moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the beauty that surrounds us. Ultimately, my practice is an exploration of how nature can hold memory, evoke emotion, and create a sense of belonging.
