Brian Purcell

Brian Purcell, born in Montreal in 1958 started photographing at an early age. Inspired by the likes of Diane Arbus, Edward Weston, and Richard Avedon. Brian took to using the sun as his primary source of light. Sharing a Natural light studio in Montreal in the 80’s Brian found that environmental portraits were his calling . Brian now concentrates on Black and White film  street photography and has been photographing  in Vancouver and the Southern Gulf Islands since 2016. Brian is an active member of Photosynthesis, a photography group based on Salt Spring Island where he resides.
