Volodymyr Vikhrenko

Volodymyr Vikhrenko is a talented Ukrainian blacksmith and sculptor who began his journey in blacksmithing in 2008, following his passion. Since 2010, he has been an honorary member of the Union of Masters of Blacksmithing Art of Ukraine.

He is best known for his remarkable sculpture, "The Birth of Steel," which was installed at the entrance of the management building of the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol. Between 2015 and 2021, Volodymyr created several monumental modern sculptures on commission from Azovstal. Unfortunately, all of his works were destroyed during hostilities in his hometown. Until March 23, 2022, Volodymyr was occupied in Mariupol. He currently lives in Burnaby.
