Genevieve Cragg

Genevieve Cragg is an artist based in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, working primarily in acrylics and mixed media. Her practice is intuitive and heart-led, using layered colour, shifting forms, and a space between abstraction and representation to reflect love, connection, resilience, and transformation. Each painting begins as a feeling and evolves through a process of building, revealing, and responding, carrying traces of precious memory and lived experience.

After the loss of her son, Genevieve’s work deepened and changed, driven by trauma, strength, and a need to make sense of the unthinkable. These works stand as both testimony and release. Alongside this, joy has remained vital. Movement, light, and a reclamation of energy surge through more recent paintings, allowing grief and vibrant joy to exist simultaneously.

Through this evolving balance, her work invites viewers into an honest, emotionally charged space - one that honours pain while affirming life, colour, and possibility.
