Kelly Taylor

I have always preferred the company of animals. Acrylic painting, with a variety of mixed media and tools for the past 9 years, has given life to a host of animal, human and hybrid characters. A Kelowna based multimedia artist, finalist in the Salt Spring National Art Prize with several curated gallery shows in Kelowna and surrounding area, I am excited to be showing work in my hometown of Vancouver. Perpetually on the lookout for gorgeous animal photo shoots and old vintage photographs, I am searching for the look and a stance that can convey the tension and emotion I feel compelled to explore. Being a figurative artist for these past 9 years makes a lot of sense given the 30 plus years spent as a physical therapist and an ongoing fascination with the stories we carry in the flesh and bones of us.
