Beatrice Cosovanu

Beatrice’s artistic practice investigates the use of visual language to create paintings that bridge the boundary between the real and the imaginary. Each project begins with in-depth research on the chosen subject, followed by the development of multiple small variations that explore compositional and chromatic possibilities. While acrylic on canvas remains her primary medium, she also experiments with paper and mixed media, combining drawing, collage, graphite, ink, and watercolor to enrich the expressive potential of her work.

Originally from Romania, Beatrice earned a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the George Enescu National University of Arts in 2001. She currently lives and works in Vancouver, BC, where she has participated in several gallery exhibitions. Her studio is in Richmond,BC.
Beatrice also holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași, Romania, a field in which she worked for several years before fully dedicating herself to art.
