Abigail Roscoe

Abigail Roscoe is a Mexican-Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Their practice draws on Mexican cultural heritage, Indigenous Mexican mythologies, and contemporary visual storytelling to explore identity, memory, transformation, and ecological change. Through surreal and whimsical imagery, they create connections between ancestral narratives and the complexities of contemporary life.

In 2026, Roscoe lost their left eye following complications from glaucoma, an experience that has profoundly reshaped their relationship with their body, self perception, and artistic practice. This ongoing process of adapting to bodily change has become a new lens through which they consider vulnerability, transformation, and resilience in their work. Roscoe is the creator of The Sixth Sun, a transmedia project inspired by Aztec mythology and contemporary Mexico City.

They studied illustration and animation in the Netherlands and has exhibited internationally, including in Switzerland. Abigail is the founder of Coyote Studio, developing independent projects across visual art, animation, and storytelling.
