Jon Lavoie
Jon is a Canadian-based photographer best known for capturing high-definition, rare moments, and unique perspectives of landscapes and nature. After retiring from a successful policing career with Vancouver, he focused on his passion for photography. His style is noticeably different from other photographers as he aims to capture both a main subject and, most importantly, a foreground that awakens the soul while igniting inspiration and appreciation of the beauty around us.
He recently opened his own gallery in the South Surrey-White Rock area. Jon is a self-taught established photographer whose skills and reputation soon brought him into the fashion world, where he notably served as the lead photographer for Miss World Canada for four years. Spanning a wide portfolio from fashion to landscape and nature, his work has been featured in galleries and publications such as Turnbull Gallery, Reader’s Digest, CTV, Global Vancouver, Cities of Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, and White Rock.
His photograph of a hawk owl flying over blueberry bushes during a snowstorm won first place in BC Magazine’s Nature contest. Jon’s love for the outdoors is the driving force behind his passion for photography. His camera is his guide in creating unique artworks that ignite imagination and emotions. He specializes in capturing awe-inspiring moments in nature and jaw-dropping beautiful landscapes. These subjects hold a special place in his heart, offering endless motivation.
