Valerie Durant
Valerie Durant is an interdisciplinary artist, whose practice includes photography and sculptural installations.
She explores human relations with the natural world, considering the fluid and seemingly invisible connections between forests, rivers and oceans.
She received her BFA (2002) from Emily Carr University attended Cooper Union in NYC. She holds an MA in Planning (2012).
She is the recent recipient of Canada Council for the Arts Grant in 2020 for her project Silence of the Seas, and in 2021 for the project Invisible Rivers.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art institutions across Canada and internationally including New York, Chicago and South Africa and held in public and private collections locally and internationally.
