Sonya Labrie

Sonya graduated from the Craft & Design Program majoring in glass, at Sheridan College (SOCAD) in Oakville, ON. Her current focus is to create and design functional wearable art, as well as blown, kiln cast glass sculptural work.

With a background in painting and drawing, surface design and texture have been a venue for exploration and creation. The fundamental ideas Sonya explores in her work involve the seen and unseen: the visible versus the suggested; the notion of memory preserved, versus the intangibly remembered.

The desired outcome of her work is to offer the viewer the opportunity to engage their own story about what is happening within the work. Each story is unique to each individual.  The work has a special meaning, and voice of its own, for every viewer.

All pieces are uniquely made in Vancouver BC
